Year / Quarter / Month / Week Progress Calculator
Pick any date (defaults to today) and instantly see what percentage of the year, the quarter, the month and the ISO week it represents — each bar also shows "Day N of total" and how many days remain. Useful for year-goal tracking, OKR mid-point reviews, quarterly planning check-ins, or just a sobering look at how fast time is passing.

Formula
progress % = elapsed days / total days in unit × 100 Year: elapsed = day-of-year; total = 365 or 366 (leap). Quarter: sum of the three months in that quarter (Q1 = Jan–Mar, Q2 = Apr–Jun, Q3 = Jul–Sep, Q4 = Oct–Dec). Month: elapsed = day of the month; total = days in the month. Week: ISO 8601, Mon = 1 … Sun = 7; total = 7.
- · The selected date itself counts as part of the "elapsed" total — so 1 Jan gives a yearly progress of 1 / 365 and 31 Dec gives 100 %. "Days remaining" only counts days strictly after the selected date.
- · Leap years follow the Gregorian rule: divisible by 4 except centuries not divisible by 400 (so 2000 and 2024 are leap years; 1900 and 2100 are not).
- · Quarters are calendar quarters: Q1 = Jan–Mar, Q2 = Apr–Jun, Q3 = Jul–Sep, Q4 = Oct–Dec. Fiscal quarters that start in April or July (used by some companies / countries) are out of scope.
- · Weeks follow ISO 8601: Monday is the first day, Sunday is the last day.
- · All math runs in your device’s local time zone. Daylight-saving transition days are still treated as full 24-hour days.
Frequently asked
Why is 1 January not 0 % year progress?
The tool counts whole days as the smallest unit. 1 January is itself the first day of the year, so the progress is 1 / 365 ≈ 0.27 %. If you want to read the chart as “year-end”, pick 31 December of the previous year — that day shows 100 % complete.
Can I use this for OKR or KPI tracking?
Yes — a common pattern is to overlay the year-progress percentage with your own KPI completion. If the year is 50 % done by early July but your KPI is only 20 % done, you are behind. To share with the team, copy the URL (it encodes the date) — anyone who opens it sees the same chart.
Which week definition does the tool use — Sunday-start or Monday-start?
It uses the ISO 8601 convention: Monday is day 1 and Sunday is day 7. So Monday gives 1 / 7 of the week elapsed, Wednesday 3 / 7, Sunday 100 %. If your work week starts on Sunday, treat Sunday as 1 / 7 and shift the labels.
Does the page auto-update each day?
Yes — the default is "today" in your local time, refreshed every time the page loads. If you want to look at a specific date (year-end, your birthday, a project milestone), pick it from the date input; the URL is updated so you can revisit or share it.
