The *Lexile Framework for Reading* (MetaMetrics) is a *text-complexity metric* derived from *sentence length and word frequency*, expressed in *Lexile measures* (L) between roughly 1 L and 2000 L. Long sentences + rare words push Lexile *up*; short sentences + common words push it *down*.

How does Lexile compare to AR (Accelerated Reader), F&P or DRA levels?
